Is there a way to edit public posted messages? It seems that the only options would be to validate or delete a message from the public forums. What if I would like to edit a word or two - maybe correct spelling....

If you use SPIP 1.9.2 or 2.0 you can use the plugin Autorité http://www.spip-contrib.net/Le-plug... as well as Crayons http://www.spip-contrib.net/Les-crayons and CFG http://plugins.spip.net/cfg

This will allow the webmaster (defined by Autorité) to choose the settings (using CFG) for editing forums in the frontoffice (with Crayons). You may allow the author to change it for an hour (as in SPIP-contrib) ar decide only the admini will be able to do so (indefinitely).

    SPIP does not generate indeed as paragraphs are usually used in order to make the text easier to read. When a BR is needed it is expected to be a choice of the editor : copy and paste would in many circumstances generate many wrong BR (copying (...)
